|Sister Madeleine Donnelly
I was born on May 6, 1927. I had two brothers and three sisters. Entered the Sisters of St. Clare July 21, 1944 and was professed on Juky 29, 1946.
I first thought of religious life when I was fourteen years old. I knew I wanted a teaching order.
I found the Sisters of St. Clare when I went to the convent in Keady to bring two young cousins home.
Since Profession I have taught in Coalville, England; Porthcawl, Wales; St. Andrews, Scotland. I came to California in August 1961; I was a teacher in Vista and later was school principal in Encinitas, Poway and Carlsbad.
Since coming to Florida I have worked in Religious Education; became director of Religious Education in 1991.
I would like to see a flourishing novitiate for the congregation and good care for the sick and elderly sisters.
I would like to see the spirit of Francis and Clare to be a focal point-leading to great love of God and our neighbor.
